Yes, without exception. Every female sarathi completes a mandatory 6-step process: Aadhaar identity verification, criminal background check, driving record review, vehicle safety inspection, drug screening, and certified women's safety training. No sarathi takes a ride without completing all six steps.
Never. CityRyde charges flat fares 365 days a year — no surge during rain, festivals, peak hours, late nights, or holidays. The fare you see at booking is the exact amount you pay. Always.
Pressing the SOS button instantly sends your live GPS location to all your registered emergency contacts and simultaneously alerts the CityRyde safety response team. The team calls you back within 60 seconds and can coordinate with local authorities if needed.
On any ride after 9 PM, the sarathi's trip does not close until you tap "I'm safely inside" on your app. The sarathi waits at your destination until you confirm. If you do not confirm within 5 minutes, the safety team is automatically alerted.
Yes. Tap "Share Trip" in the app and send a link to up to 5 contacts. They can track your sarathi's location, see your route, and monitor your ETA in real time from any web browser — no app download required on their end.
No. All calls between customer and sarathi are routed through CityRyde's encrypted in-app calling system. Your personal number is never visible to the sarathi at any point during or after the ride.
CityRyde for Men exclusively matches male customers with verified male sarathis — a feature no mainstream platform offers. Combined with flat fares (zero surge), zero sarathi commission, in-app comfort preferences, and a 6-step sarathi verification process, it's a purpose-built experience rather than a generic ride pool.
Yes. All CityRyde sarathis undergo professional discretion training. Your phone number is masked throughout the booking — sarathis only see a proxy number. Conversations in the vehicle are never recorded or shared. You can also set your ride to Silent Mode in the app, signalling the sarathi to keep the trip completely quiet.
No. CityRyde's flat fare model means no event-based surge, ever. Whether it's an IPL final, a holiday weekend, or a city-wide event causing traffic, your fare stays exactly the same as any other day. The price you see at booking is the price you pay — no exceptions.
Yes. You can book a ride on behalf of a father, colleague, or friend directly through the app. Enter the other person's pickup and drop details, and the assigned sarathi will be a verified male sarathi. The fare is charged to your account and a real-time trip link can be shared for tracking.
Sarathi quality is monitored continuously. Customers rate every trip, and sarathis must maintain a minimum 4.5-star rating to stay active on the platform. Sarathis who fall below threshold are suspended pending a performance review. Periodic re-verification checks and refresher training modules are mandatory — onboarding standards are not a one-time gate.
CityRyde's flat-fare, zero-commission model already delivers consistent savings on every single ride — no loyalty programme needed to unlock them. Regular customers on a daily 12 km commute save an average of ₹3,640 per month compared to peak-hour fares on competing platforms. Savings are built into the base fare, not hidden behind a subscription or points scheme.
When you register on CityRyde, your gender is captured as part of your profile. Every time you book a ride, the algorithm exclusively matches you with a verified sarathi of the same gender — women with female sarathis, men with male sarathis. This is not optional or toggle-based — it is hardcoded into every booking, every time, with no exceptions.
Yes. CityRyde operates on a flat fare model — the amount shown at booking confirmation is the exact amount deducted at the end of the trip. There is no surge pricing, no peak-hour multiplier, no traffic-based adjustment, and no checkout additions. GST is already included in the displayed fare.
Yes. All communication between customers and sarathis on CityRyde goes through an encrypted in-app proxy system. When you call or message your sarathi through the app, your personal phone number is never revealed — and the sarathi's number is equally masked from you. This privacy protection is active from the moment you book to the moment the trip ends.
Safe Drop is a feature on Women's Rides. After arriving at the destination, the sarathi waits and confirms in their app that the customer has safely entered her building, compound, or destination premises before marking the trip complete. This ensures customers are not left on the street alone after drop-off — especially important during late-night or early-morning rides.
CityRyde accepts UPI (all apps — GPay, PhonePe, Paytm, BHIM), debit and credit cards, net banking, the CityRyde in-app wallet, and cash. Payment is processed automatically at the end of each trip. A GST-inclusive digital receipt is sent to your app and registered email address immediately after payment.
Every rating and piece of feedback you submit is factored into the sarathi's cumulative performance score. Sarathis must maintain a minimum rating to remain active on the platform. High-rated sarathis are prioritised in matching and recognised through CityRyde's monthly top-driver programme. Consistently poor ratings trigger a mandatory review — so your feedback has direct, measurable impact on service quality.
Zero. CityRyde charges sarathis 0% commission on every fare. The entire amount a customer pays for the trip — minus applicable GST — goes directly to the sarathi. There are no platform deductions, no subscription fees, and no weekly settlement delays. Earnings are credited to your registered bank account daily.
On surge platforms, customers wait for surge to drop before booking — leaving sarathis idle during high-demand periods. CityRyde's flat fare model means customers book immediately without hesitation, giving sarathis consistent ride volume throughout the day. More rides per hour multiplied by zero commission equals significantly higher monthly earnings than platforms where commission eats 25–30% of every fare.
Yes. CityRyde actively welcomes EV sarathis — electric scooters, e-autos, and EV cars. EV sarathis benefit doubly: zero commission means they keep every rupee earned, and EV running costs (₹1–1.5 per km) are up to 80% lower than petrol vehicles (₹6–8 per km). On 100 km per day, an EV sarathi saves approximately ₹13,000–₹17,000 per month in fuel costs alone compared to a petrol vehicle sarathi.
The full 6-step onboarding typically takes 3–5 business days. Step 1 (online application) takes about 10 minutes. Document verification takes 24–48 hours. Background screening takes 2–3 days. Vehicle inspection and training can be completed in a single visit to your nearest CityRyde hub. Most sarathis go live within a week of applying.
You need: a valid LMV or LMV-TR driving licence with at least 2 years of experience; a vehicle RC for a vehicle from 2012 or newer; valid commercial vehicle insurance; Aadhaar card; PAN card; a bank account for daily payouts; and an Android or iOS smartphone to run the CityRyde Sarathi app.
CityRyde processes sarathi earnings daily through NEFT/IMPS transfer directly to your registered bank account. There is no minimum threshold — every rupee earned on a given day is credited by the next morning. Customers paying by UPI or card have amounts reflected immediately in your in-app earnings dashboard, with the bank transfer completing overnight.
CityRyde Parcel handles documents, retail orders, medicines, groceries, gifts, electronics, office supplies, garments, packaged food, and general merchandise. Prohibited items include unsealed liquids, hazardous materials, and unpackaged perishables. If you are unsure about a specific item, contact support before booking.
Yes, limits depend on the vehicle you select. Scooter/Motorbike handles parcels up to 5 kg — ideal for documents and small packages. Auto Rickshaw handles up to 20 kg, suitable for retail orders and multi-item dispatches. Car/Sedan handles up to 50 kg for bulk, fragile, or high-value consignments. For heavier or oversized freight, contact us to arrange a custom vehicle.
Every CityRyde delivery includes digital proof as standard — at no extra charge. This includes a recipient signature or OTP-based confirmation, a timestamped delivery photo, and a GPS-tagged drop location. Both the sender and recipient receive an instant confirmation notification. Businesses can download delivery receipts from the app for invoicing and records.
Yes. Wholesalers, retailers, and local businesses can schedule same-day or advance pickups from the CityRyde app. For high-volume senders needing daily or recurring dispatch slots, CityRyde offers business accounts with priority scheduling, consolidated delivery reports, and a dedicated support contact. Reach out via the contact form to set this up.
Yes. Flag your parcel as fragile at the time of booking. Delivery customers are trained to carry flagged items upright, avoid stacking, and use extra care throughout transit. For high-value items, the Car tier is recommended — it provides a secure enclosed vehicle and signed handover receipts at both pickup and drop.
If your parcel is delayed, you receive a real-time status update with a revised ETA through the app. In the rare event of damage, raise a claim within 24 hours of delivery with photos via the app. Our support team reviews and resolves all claims within 48 hours. Every delivery customer is trained in safe handling protocols and held to strict quality standards on every trip.
Any criminal record is grounds for immediate and permanent rejection — there are no exceptions and no minimum severity threshold. This includes theft, harassment, assault, sexual offences, drug-related convictions, fraud, and any pending FIR involving violence or public safety. Even minor criminal cases that were settled or acquitted with adverse remarks are reviewed. CityRyde does not offer appeals for criminal record rejections — the safety of our customers depends on this being absolute.
No — there is no education requirement. What matters is a clean identity, clean criminal record, valid driving licence, solid community standing, and demonstrable character and conduct. A person of integrity with basic literacy will always be preferred over a more qualified individual with concerning behaviour patterns.
Every applicant provides two personal references — a neighbour, community elder, former employer, teacher, or local leader who has known them for at least 2 years. Relatives are not accepted. Our verification team contacts each reference separately using a structured questionnaire. Any hesitation, contradiction, or concern — however small — triggers a deeper review.
Failure at the character assessment can result in rejection even if all previous layers were passed. Sarathis who show disrespect towards women, aggression, or other conduct red flags are permanently barred from the women's ride category. In borderline cases, a deferred reapplication may be possible after a minimum 12-month cooling period — but the character interview is repeated from scratch with a different panel.
Monitoring is continuous across four systems: customer ratings reviewed monthly for trend patterns; AI trip route monitoring with real-time deviation alerts; random drug testing every 6 months, unannounced; and all complaints reviewed by a human analyst within 24 hours with the sarathi suspended pending review for any safety concern. All sarathis undergo full re-verification annually.
It depends on the reason for rejection. Sarathis rejected for criminal records, FIRs for violence or harassment, confirmed drug test failure, identity fraud, or serious character concerns are permanently barred. Sarathis rejected for documentation issues may reapply once corrected, subject to full fresh screening. Sarathis who failed only the character interview may reapply after a minimum of 12 months, subject to a new full character assessment.
The moment you tap SOS, your live GPS is locked, our 24/7 Safety Operations Centre is alerted with your full trip details, and your pre-saved emergency contacts receive an automatic SMS with a live tracking link. A female safety analyst calls you within 90 seconds. In partnered cities, police coordination is triggered simultaneously.
Yes. The Silent SOS feature activates the full emergency response without any sound, screen flash, or visible notification. Press your phone's power button 3 times in rapid succession. The sarathi's app shows nothing. The full response protocol — safety team alert, emergency contact SMS, GPS lock, police coordination — runs identically to a normal SOS.
Do not board. The vehicle registration, make, colour, and sarathi's face in the app must match the physical vehicle and person in front of you — every single time. If any detail differs, cancel the trip immediately, move to a nearby busy and well-lit public area, and report the mismatch via the in-app Report button. You will not be charged a cancellation fee in this scenario.
Yes — comprehensive support. Within 24 hours of any SOS event, a dedicated Post-Incident Case Manager contacts you. They assist with FIR filing, provide timestamped trip data for police use, coordinate with legal support services, and can refer you to certified trauma counselors at no cost. The sarathi involved is immediately suspended pending a full investigation.
Go to Profile → Safety Settings → Emergency Contacts and add up to 3 trusted contacts. Your contacts do not need to download the CityRyde app. When SOS is triggered, they receive an automatic SMS with a live tracking link that works from any mobile browser. We strongly recommend adding at least 2 contacts before every ride — especially for late-night journeys.
The minimum age is 60 years. There is no upper age limit — as long as you hold a valid driving licence and clear our standard safety screening, you are welcome on the platform. Many of our senior sarathis are in their 70s and 80s.
Yes, absolutely. CityRyde's Inclusive Sarathi Programme specifically welcomes physically disabled individuals who hold a valid driving licence. Physical difference is not a disqualification — your ability to drive safely is what matters. We assess each application individually and work with you to find the right setup.
No. Passengers see your name, vehicle registration, photo, and rating — exactly the same information shown for any other sarathi. CityRyde does not flag, label, or disclose disability status to customers under any circumstances. You drive with complete privacy and full dignity.
Earnings are credited directly to your linked bank account every single day — typically within 24 hours of completing your rides. There is no weekly holding period, no monthly settlement. Your money moves as fast as you earn it.
You receive comprehensive in-person onboarding support, app navigation training in your preferred language, a sarathi road safety refresher workshop, and unlimited access to our 24/7 Senior Helpline. Beyond onboarding, you can join monthly sarathi peer groups, wellness check-ins, and reach your onboarding coordinator any time.
