CityRyde was founded in 2025 in response to a gap that millions of daily commuters across India experience but rarely see addressed — the absence of genuine safety, trust, and dignity in urban ride-hailing. Despite the rapid growth of mobility platforms, a significant portion of commuters, particularly women and elderly travellers, continued to modify or limit their travel due to uncertainty around driver identity and accountability. Recognising this as a systemic failure rather than an isolated concern, CityRyde was built with a singular purpose: to make every journey as safe as it is affordable. Our solution — gender-matched ride-hailing — pairs female riders exclusively with verified female drivers and male riders with verified male drivers, eliminating the primary source of discomfort in urban transit.
